Answers to common questions, and how to reach us.

Where is my data stored?

In Cadence's local storage on your device. There is no Cadence account, server, tracking, analytics, or cloud sync. Cadence never uploads your practices, sessions, timings, or selected media to us.

What is a Practice?

A Practice keeps one repeatable target together: movement, variation, resistance, protocol, and rep count. For example, 100 strict bodyweight pull-ups. If you change that definition or target, Cadence keeps the old results in their original comparison lane.

How do I run a timed session?

Choose your Practice and start its fixed-volume session. Begin a set, record its reps when you finish, then rest. Cadence captures each work and rest interval until you reach the target. The Live Activity can keep the current phase visible on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.

Which sessions can Cadence compare?

Only reliable timed attempts with the same movement, variation, resistance, protocol, and target are compared. Cadence shows time to target, sets, rest, pace, and the change from the previous matched result. Partial, quick-log, excluded, or capped-timing sessions stay in History without being presented as precise pace comparisons.

What's free, and what's Pro?

Free includes one active Practice, logging and timing, matched results, the Live Activity, complete History, progress photos, and JSON or CSV workout-data export. The one-time Cadence Pro unlock adds a next-session pace plan based on recent reliable matched work, multiple active Practices, and progress videos. There is no subscription.

What does the Pro pace plan do?

It suggests a conservative set size and rest rhythm that you have already sustained in recent reliable sessions from the exact same comparison lane. It is a training reference, not a diagnosis or medical recommendation.

Does Cadence need access to my camera or whole photo library?

No. Cadence uses Apple’s system Photos picker, which gives the app only the photo or video you explicitly select. It does not request blanket photo-library access or camera access. Photos are free; adding progress videos requires Cadence Pro.

What is included in an export?

JSON and CSV exports include your Practice, session, set, timing, note, and media metadata. They do not include the actual photo or video files. You choose where to save or share the export through the iOS file exporter.

I made a mistake. Can I fix or delete a log?

Yes. Open a session from Today or History to edit its reps, work, and rest, or delete it. You can also exclude an unusual session from matched pace comparisons while keeping it in your complete History.

Do you back up to iCloud?

No. Cadence has no cloud sync in this version. Use the free JSON or CSV export when you want a separate copy of your workout data; remember that media files are not included in those exports.
