Sam
Privacy Policy
Effective August 22, 2026 (v1.0)
Privacy first: Studio AM operates no servers for Sam, has no account system, and cannot read your data. The iPhone app and Mac app exchange selected records through your private iCloud database. Apple hosts that database under your Apple Account. There are no ads, third-party analytics, or behavioral tracking.
1. Information and content
1.1 Studio AM accounts and personal information
Sam requires no Studio AM account, email address, or profile, and Studio AM does not collect personal information through the app.
1.2 Local Mac data
Sam stores its notebook, chore definitions, reports, state, and received files on your Mac. It may read calendar events and folders you explicitly allow for a task. None of this material is uploaded to Studio AM.
1.3 What travels through private iCloud
Sam uses your private CloudKit database for directions and replies, run titles and outcomes, messages, approval requests and decisions, device status, and text, photo, or file drops. A run can include its report, verbatim up to 48 KB; a longer report ends with a notice that the full copy remains on the Mac. A report may contain material the task used, such as calendar details, notebook context, or web research. Files attached to a direction and files sent between your devices also use your iCloud storage. Studio AM cannot access this private database.
1.4 Research, watched services, and optional providers
Web research and watched-page chores send queries and page requests to the search provider and sites involved. GitHub watches contact GitHub when configured. Studio Pulse contacts only the public feed URLs you enter, Open-Meteo when you enter a weather place and provider key, and Twelve Data when you enter market symbols and a provider key. Those keys remain in the Mac login keychain. The pulse does not use private notebook, file, calendar, model, or agent tools, and it does not access logged-in social pages or scrape finance websites. Local models are used by default; if you explicitly add a supported cloud-model key and enable cloud research, the research question and fetched page material are sent to that provider. Sam does not send your notebook or unrelated files with a web request.
1.5 App Store data
The Mac App Store edition cannot read App Store Connect. If you use the separate direct-download edition and configure an App Store Connect chore, its credential remains on that Mac and the request is sent directly to Apple. A resulting report can be mirrored to your private iCloud database as described above.
2. Permissions
Calendar access on Mac is used to compose briefs. A brief can include calendar details and, like other run reports, can be mirrored to your private iCloud database. Folder access is limited to locations you choose. Notifications are local. The iPhone app uses Photos or Files access only when you choose an attachment.
3. Third parties
Sam has no analytics SDKs or ad networks. Apple processes iCloud sync and App Store transactions under its own privacy policy. A search provider, requested website or feed, GitHub, Open-Meteo, Twelve Data, or cloud-model provider receives only the requests you enable as described above, under that provider's terms.
4. Data retention and deletion
You can remove Sam's local files from the Mac and delete the apps. Received files remain yours; Sam does not delete them. A file-drop record uses your iCloud storage until the sending device removes it after 30 days. Other private CloudKit records may remain in your Apple Account until the app consumes them or you remove Sam's iCloud data through Apple's storage controls. Deleting an app by itself does not guarantee that Apple deletes its iCloud records. Studio AM holds no server copy and cannot delete those records for you.
5. Children
Sam is a productivity tool intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect information from children.
6. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version is posted at this address with a new effective date. Questions: [email protected].
