The Challenge
Generic workout trackers count volume across changing exercises and targets. That does not answer the question behind a repeatable calisthenics practice: how efficiently did you complete the same work this time?
Our Approach
Cadence keeps each Practice precise: movement, variation, resistance, protocol, and fixed rep target. During a timed attempt it captures every work and rest interval, then compares the result only with sessions from that exact definition. A changed target starts a new comparison lane instead of rewriting the meaning of old results.
Key Features
- Define one comparable practice. Save a movement, variation, resistance, protocol, and target such as 100 strict pull-ups.
- Capture work and rest automatically. Run a timed session while Cadence records the duration and reps of each set and the rest before the next one.
- Compare like with like. See time to target, set count, total rest, pace, and the change from the previous reliable attempt with the exact same definition.
- Keep the session visible. A free Live Activity shows the current phase on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island while you train.
- Own the complete record. Full History, progress photos, and JSON or CSV workout-data export are free. Export files contain workout records and media metadata, not the photo or video files themselves.
- Add coaching only when useful. Cadence Pro adds a conservative next-session set and rest plan drawn from recent matched work, multiple active practices, and progress videos. It is a one-time unlock, not a subscription.
- Stay private. Cadence works offline with no account, tracking, analytics, ads, or cloud sync. Your training stays on your device unless you choose to export it.
Results
Cadence turns a repeated rep target into an honest personal benchmark: the same work, measured on the same terms, with a pace you can choose to repeat or beat.
Common questions
Cadence is an English-language iPhone and iPad pace coach for repeatable, fixed-volume calisthenics practices such as 100 strict pull-ups or 150 push-ups. A Practice saves the movement, variation, resistance, protocol, and rep target together. Timed sessions record every set's work and rest, and Cadence compares results only when that full definition and target match; quick logs remain in History without being presented as timed pace data. Free includes one active practice, matched results, the timer, full History, progress photos, JSON and CSV workout-data export, and a Lock Screen and Dynamic Island Live Activity. The optional one-time Cadence Pro unlock adds a conservative next-session pace plan based on recent reliable matched sessions, multiple active practices, and progress videos. The app works offline with no account, ads, analytics, tracking, or cloud sync. Workout data stays on device unless the user explicitly exports it. Selected media stays local, and exports include its metadata but not the photo or video files.
